Medical mission held in Antique

SAN JOSE de BUENAVISTA, Antique, June 2 (PNA) — The Texas Medical Mission (TMM) team composed of the Palomero family in cooperation with the officials of Barangay Atabay, here has treated more than 200 patients in its medical, dental and surgical mission conducted in Atabay Adventist Church on Wednesday.

The Texas Medical team is composed of seven dental staff, two surgeons, four medical doctors, one veterinary doctor from Canada, and one physical therapist from Australia. There were also other volunteer doctors from Sibalom, San Jose and Patnongon.

Since its founding in 2004, TMM has successfully conducted four medical missions in Antique, especially in the hinterland areas.

Engr. Sam Palomero, one of the founders of the Texas medical mission, said that more than 130 medical and 150 circumcision had been conducted in the far-flung barangays in Patnongon. This year, they extended the medical mission for three days to cater to the growing patients who want to avail the free consultation, free medicines and vitamins.

The mission includes referral to hospitals.

The other sponsors of the mission are West Visaya Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists, Amangal Ventures in Texas, USA and the Filipino American One Nation Church, and the Fil-Am International SDA Church in Texas, USA.

The team plans to hold the mission every two years to provide more medical services in the province.
