Pacman, number 1 challenger in WBC welterweight division

People’s Champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.climbed into the number one spot in the the World Boxing Council welterweight division ranking.

This was despite the 8-division champ not being included in the top 10 in the previous ranking of WBC.

Pacquiao on 23 November won against Brandon “Bam-Bam” Rios in Macau via unanimous decision.

Here are the top 10 in the welterweight division of the WBC:
1. Manny Pacquiao (Philippines)
2. Luis Carlos Abregu (Argentina)
3. Amir Khan (GB)
4. Ed Paredes (US)
5. Ionut Dan Ion (Romania / Canada)
6. Leonard Bundu (Sierra Leone) EBU
7. Zab Judah (US)
8. Robert Guerrero (US)
9. Jessie Vargas (US)
10. Kell Brook (GB)

Floyd Mayweather Jr..remains the reigning holder of the 147 lbs weight division.

Because of the latest ranking, Pacquiao becomes the “mandatory challenger” to Mayweather.

WBC had earlier called Pacquiao the “best of the decade” while the American boxer remains the undefeated champ..
