The Philippine Australian Foundation Inc. (PAFI) celebrated the 126th Philippine Independence Day last 12 June 2024 at a gathering at 93 Cowper St, Footscray. The event brought together the PAFI officers, members, and guests for an afternoon filled with, food, cultural presentations, messages and dancing.

The celebration featured a complimentary lunch provided by PAFI, which allowed everyone to enjoy traditional Filipino cuisine while mingling and sharing stories.

Adding a unique touch to the celebration was the presence of Australian military personnel who are currently learning the Filipino language through the Philippine Language School. Their participation brought a sense of cross-cultural exchange to the event. The military personnel were given the opportunity to say a few words in Filipino, much to the delight of the attendees. Their efforts were warmly applauded.

The fun continued as the Australian military personnel joined in the line dancing, a popular activity in Filipino celebrations.
