Philippine-Australia Business Forum to Forge Strategic Outsourcing Partnerships in Melbourne

Melbourne, Australia — The Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne, in collaboration with the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), is inviting Australian companies to explore powerful outsourcing and innovation partnerships during the Philippine-Australia Business Forum on 14 May 2025 (Wednesday), 4:00 PM at Level 10, 257 Collins Street, Melbourne.

The forum will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Philippines’ IT-BPM sector, which continues to play a significant role in the global outsourcing industry. Attendees will have the chance to meet with Philippine companies and explore potential collaborations in areas such as talent acquisition, digital services, and business scalability.

Why Australia should look to the Philippines

The forum highlights the Philippines as a premier destination for outsourcing and innovation, offering Australian businesses access to:

  • A highly skilled and English-proficient workforce, producing over 850,000 graduates annually
  • Cost savings of up to 60–70% on labour and operational costs
  • A robust IT-BPM ecosystem backed by strong infrastructure and government incentives
  • Cultural compatibility and business ethics that align with Australian values
  • Real-time operational advantages due to close time zone proximity

“We are committed to fostering stronger business ties between Australia and the Philippines,” said Ralph Vincent C. Abarquez, Acting Head of Post and Consul at the Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne.

“This forum is an excellent opportunity for Australian businesses to explore partnerships with some of the Philippines’ top IT-BPM companies and discover how we can collaborate for mutual growth,” Consul Abarquez said.

The event will include a business forum and B2B networking sessions, with a cocktail reception to follow as an opportunity for informal discussions and continued engagement.
