Must read

Every minute counts when it comes to recognizing the signs of a stroke. That’s why the Philippine Cultural Society for Families & Friends Inc. (PCSFFI) has joined forces with healthcare professionals and community members to raise awareness during National Stroke Week from August 7-13, 2023. The initiative emphasizes learning the F.A.S.T. signs of stroke – Face, Arms, Speech, Time – essential knowledge that can save lives.

United in Fighting Stroke

Held in Maidstone, Victoria, the event marked PCSFFI’s commitment to community welfare and stroke education. Leveraging the power of culture and family, PCSFFI aims to connect people and arm them with crucial information to respond to stroke symptoms quickly and effectively.

Empowering Through Knowledge

Fil-Aus doctors from Bendigo, including Dr. Charo Palaypayon-Tionko, Dr. Mia Siapno, and Dr. Noel Siapno, enriched the event with their medical insights. They emphasized the importance of recognizing the F.A.S.T. signs and seeking immediate medical attention, reinforcing the central message of National Stroke Week.

PCSFFI’s Vital Contribution

As an organization deeply rooted in family values and cultural connections, PCSFFI’s participation brought a unique perspective to stroke awareness. Through various activities, such as the sharing of a 1-minute live video and numerous photographs, PCSFFI illustrated how community involvement and education can be intertwined with health initiatives. Their leadership added depth and community resonance to the fight against stroke.
