The Philippine Times has been named Best Newspaper under the Print Journalism category at the 2025 Migration Advocacy and Media (MAM) Awards of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO). Publisher Alice Nicolas received the official announcement from the CFO on 11 November, recognising the publication’s contribution to promoting awareness of Filipino migration and diaspora experiences.
This year, 18 awardees from 17 countries were chosen from a total of 95 entries. They were honoured for their work in highlighting the challenges and triumphs of Filipinos living abroad and for helping shape positive public understanding of migration.
CFO Chairperson Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II, who led the panel of judges, said the awards celebrate “the crucial role of journalists, writers, film-makers, content creators, and those involved in mainstream, traditional or emerging media in shaping migration narratives and public perception, and for highlighting the colorful stories of our overseas Filipinos who are present in the four corners of the world.”
The award ceremony will be held on 11 December 2025, at the Grand Ballroom, Quest Plus Conference Center (formerly Crimson Hotel) in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, coinciding with the celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos.
