Pinoy Power: Filipino Professionals Share Stories of Leadership and Transformation

The University of the Philippines Alumni in Victoria (UPAV) invites the public to Pinoy Power: A Networking Event for Filipino Professionals, on Saturday, 30 August, at Ross House, 247–251 Flinders Lane, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

With the theme “Leadership and Transformation Journey: Challenges, Opportunities and Success,” the event features Filipino-Australian professionals reflecting on their personal and professional growth—what it means to lead, adapt, and thrive in Australia.

Jules Jusayan, a chartered structural engineer and founder of Power Structure Solutions, brings expertise from across the renewable energy sector—including wind, solar, and battery storage. Now completing his MBA at Melbourne Business School, he leads with technical insight and a commitment to sustainable infrastructure.

From the banking and finance sector, Baby Lyn Nagayo offers a deep dive into technology and cyber governance. Currently an Associate Director at ANZ’s Institutional Division, she brings a strong foundation in accounting and consulting, and speaks candidly about honouring values like loyalty and excellence while navigating corporate life.

Environmental scientist Mark Vergara, now Technical Executive at WSP Australia, shares more than two decades of international experience in nature-based solutions and ecosystem restoration. His career has taken him from wetland and reef management overseas to environmental planning and urban ecology in Australia.

Joining them is Mursha Dalay-on, a program manager and educator whose work centres on social impact and health promotion in diverse communities. Her background in sociology and psychology informs her approach to community capacity building.

Also speaking is Evlin Jankoff, a transformation coach and strategist who partners with purpose-led organisations to align operations, leadership, and people. With over 20 years’ experience across sectors, she offers practical insights on leading with clarity and intention.

The panel will be moderated by Mary Ann Ernst, a seasoned FMCG quality professional and proud UP alumna.

Pinoy Power is open to the public and welcomes anyone interested in leadership, career development, or community building. It’s not just for UP graduates—it’s for anyone who believes in the strength of shared experience and purpose.

The event is supported by the Filipino Community Council of Victoria (FCCVi), Mama Sita’s, and the UPAV network.
