‘Crime of passion’ teleserye comes to an end

One of the hottest teleseryes from the Kapamilya channel is soon coming to an end. Init Sa Magdamag which stars Gerald Anderson, Yam Concepcion and JM De Guzman will air its finale on September 10.

The show tackles sensitive and relevant issues such as marital violence. In the show, Yam plays Rita, an abused wife married to Peterson, played by JM. In real life, Yam recently got married to her long-time boyfriend and is currently in New York. Although playing Rita has opened her eyes to wives in a violent marriage and their struggles, she still can’t imagine what they go through. One thing she took from the show is knowing your worth as a woman. As the show progresses, her character has grown from a battered wife to an empowered woman.

JM, who plays the abusive husband Peterson, said that his role was very intense, and though he would still like to play challenging roles such as this, he wants to do a “breather” role for now. He is currently doing a passion project together with Viva and an independent producer.

On the other hand, Gerald, who played Doc Tupe, said that he found his role very fulfilling. Due to our current situation, he said playing a doctor makes him more empathic towards our medical workers. Gerald hopes that their demands will be heard and met by the Philippine government. He also added that he is proud to be part of the show that has made an impact and is very relatable to the viewers.

Init Sa Magdamag is directed by Raymond Ocampo and Ian Lorenos, it also stars Alexa Ilacad and Gab Lagman. Subscribers can watch it via TFC online.
