Philippine Startup Ecosystem Booms, Attracts Investor Interest

The Philippine startup ecosystem is experiencing rapid growth, as indicated by the recently released Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) 2023. The ecosystem’s value has surged to $3.5 billion, marking an impressive 85% increase from its previous valuation of $2.1 billion. Investors are taking notice of this thriving environment, with the country’s Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) playing a crucial role in supporting local startups and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Partnerships Fostered to Bolster Filipino Startups

The DTI, in collaboration with Silicon Valley HQ and Startup Village, has initiated partnerships to further strengthen the support system for Filipino startups and companies. Chris Peralta, Founder and CEO of Silicon Valley HQ, is leveraging his expertise and extensive network to mentor and advise Filipino startups, bridging the gap between the Philippines, Silicon Valley, and Sydney. Carlo Calimon, President of Startup Village, has been instrumental in developing the country’s startup ecosystem through incubation and acceleration programs.

Startups Benefitting from Mentorship and Network

Five startups have recently received mentorship from Chris Peralta and the resources of Silicon Valley HQ’s vast network. These startups are seeking funding to drive their business activities and expansion plans:
