Antonio tops Angping Cup

Grandmaster Rogelio Antonio Jr. downed International Masters Julio Catalino Sadorra to add the first Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Harry Angping Cup rapid chess championships to his cabinet of trophies Saturday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Antonio finished off Sadorra in the ninth and final round to emerge as the solo champion in the two-day, 147-player tournament organized by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) in honor of chairman Angping.
