Celebrating brotherly love

The Freemasons Victoria Lodge Plaridel 1893, which was consecrated in 2019, held a meeting on 1 May 2021. Members and delegates from all around Melbourne whilst some travelled as far as Queensland and New South Wales attended just to celebrate.

It was an eventful evening specifically to Worshipful Brother Greg Todio and his sons, Giordan and Giorgio. Visitors and members witnessed the brothers welcomed and initiated into the craft. Bro. Todio recalls when his sons (including his elder son Brien who is also a member) would help around the lodge with preparations and help tidy the place and now they are all grown men following in their father’s footsteps.

As a father, seeing your son achieve an important milestone in their life journey is something to celebrate and to be proud of. The ceremony was meaningful, and notable members delivered wonderful charges flawlessly and without the aid of notes. The other highlight was the Filipino buffet and the evening finished off with a sing along.

Bro. Todio is one of the foundation members of Plaridel 1893 and was one of the influential leaders who spearheaded the task of starting this unique lodge, one of its kind in the world. Lodge Plaridel is the only lodge in the world that has been given permission to blend the rituals of the United Grand Lodge of the Philippines and Freemasons Victoria.
