Learn to Engage, Empower, and Promote Equity Among Victorian CALD Communities

In support of Cultural Diversity Week 2023, 2M Language Services is hosting a free webinar on March 15th, 2023, at 1:00 PM AEDT, titled “Vibrant Communities: Engage, Empower, and Promote Equity Among Victorian CALD Communities.” The webinar aims to highlight innovative solutions that leverage CALD communities, technology, and linguists to promote equity and inclusion.

Victoria is home to a vibrant and diverse range of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. These communities play a vital role in Victoria’s social, economic, and cultural fabric, and their contributions are integral to the state’s success. However, despite their importance, CALD communities often face unique challenges that can impact their ability to engage, participate, and access services.

One of the topics covered in the webinar is the use of AI-driven workflows combined with linguists and CALD community members to improve communication and access to services. By harnessing the power of technology and community expertise, organisations can better understand and respond to the needs of CALD communities, resulting in more effective and equitable outcomes.

The webinar will also discuss the need for speed when it comes to language access in time-critical situations, such as emergency settings. 2M Language Services has developed proven solutions that enable ultra-fast messaging in migrant languages for emergency services, including Emergency Management Victoria. These solutions can make a significant difference in ensuring that CALD communities receive timely and appropriate assistance when they need it most.

In addition, the webinar will cover secure and linguist-approved apps and platforms that organisations can use to access translation and interpreting services on demand. For example, attendees will learn how to request on-demand video interpreters in migrant and low-resource languages or Auslan. They can access an interpreter directly via telehealth platforms, such as healthdirect Video Call or from their phone or tablet anywhere.

The webinar is designed for city councils, health services, Victorian state departments, and all corporate and community organisations that engage with CALD stakeholders. By attending this webinar, participants will gain valuable insights into how they can better engage, empower, and promote equity among CALD communities, resulting in stronger, more vibrant communities for all.

In conclusion, the Vibrant Communities webinar by 2M Language Services is an essential opportunity for organisations to learn about innovative solutions that can improve the engagement, empowerment, and equity of CALD communities in Victoria. By leveraging technology and community expertise, organisations can create more effective and equitable outcomes that benefit everyone.
