Everyone is invited to attend tonight’s Feast of the Black Nazarene at 7pm. Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, DD, Apostolic Nuncio to Australia will serve as Presider and Preacher during the Novena/Mass. It will be held at St Mary Star of the Sea (Holy Family Shrine) at 33 Howard Street, West Melbourne.
Hundreds of Filipino-Australians are making it a yearly habit to attend the mass for our Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno for their personal petitions, good health and blessings.
Several community leaders and volunteers who prefer to work in the background have been sharing and helping to make this annual Feast a success.
Please invite your friends and family members to attend this biggest Black Nazarene event in Victoria. You can bring flowers and statues to be blessed by Archbishop Yllana.
Please bring food to share for the fellowship after the mass.
In the Philippines, procession of the Black Nazarene is the largest procession in the country. On Good Friday, 9 January thousands of Filipino devotees join the procession through the streets of Quiapo, a small part of metro Manila. The procession dates from the 17th century.
