Fil-Aussie rapper Joseph Scott signs record deal with new tracks released

Filipino-Australian artist Joseph Scott is releasing music to inspire others to achieve their goals. His single ‘Lavish’ was released in February this year and has been well received by the industry. The Sydney-based rapper/singer, was the face and voice of Australian clothing brand ‘STAX’ and their latest range of attire, which led to his single receiving over a million impressions across the advertisements. The single was also picked up on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and Philippines radio show ‘Beat This Philippines.’

‘Lavish’ speaks to a generation of people aspiring to work hard for greater opportunities in life. “It’s about wanting more in life, working for a bigger opportunity and straight up hustling for the nicer things in life. It’s about the struggle and the hard times but being able to be focused on what’s to come,” he says.

As a young artist, Joseph is driven by the successes of other artists, as well as his own achievements. “Passion is a big push for me when it comes to inspiration, being different and pushing myself to do better things for the people around me and myself.”

He has since released a brand new track, titled ‘No More’, a collaboration with Jono, available from May 20 on all platforms: https://teamwrk.ffm.to/nomore.

Joseph Scott is the nephew of Filipino music legend Randy Santiago. While growing up, he was surrounded by singing and music in his Filipino household. As a teenager, he joined a school band before moving on to performing solo R&B acoustic music. “l’ve always had a love for RNB regardless the phase of music I was in. Towards the end of school I found my love for writing and hip hop, and during that time the beginning of melodic rap was taking shape,” he says.

Referred to as a ‘silent achiever’ at age 24, Joseph brings a confident yet relaxed energy to the industry in Australia. Combined with his unique skills, he is rightly becoming recognised as an exciting up and coming authentic young artist in the country.

Since releasing a few singles and an album in the past year, he has secured management with Lucky Ent, and a label deal with Melbourne-based Teamwrk Records which has led to the release of new tracks to add to his list of achievements.

He says that his recent performance as the headline act in front of an estimated 60,000 eyes on TVs across the world – and up to 4,000 in the arena at Boxing Pay Per View ‘Zerafa v Hardman’ in Melbourne’s Convention Centre was a blessing. This event gave him a glimpse of what the future may hold – something special that he is chasing.

Joseph will continue to perform at shows and festivals while working on new tracks to release. He hopes to give his fans more insights into his life, as well as the process of what he does in the studio and on the stage. He shares his desire to collaborate with artists Vory, Tory Lanez, Doja Cat, Trippie Redd in the future.

When asked about his end goal in the music world, he states, “To have a legacy, to tell my story and have whoever gets around my music to feel a curtain way because of it.”
