Filipino Comedy Powerhouses to Perform in Sydney and Melbourne

Sydney, Australia – Filipino comedy fans in Australia are in for a treat as “The Absolute Mega Best of Comedy Manila” brings top Filipino comedians to Sydney and Melbourne. The event, running from August 30 to September 1, will feature performances by Red Ollero, GB Labrador, James Caraan, and Victor Anastacio.

The tour promises an evening filled with humour that resonates with the Filipino-Australian community, blending cultural anecdotes and relatable stories. The comedians, known for their sharp wit and engaging performances, will offer a taste of contemporary Filipino humour.

Red Ollero

The first homegrown comedian to have his own Netflix stand-up comedy special. He also starred in the film “I am Not Big Bird” alongside Enrique Gil and hosts “The Medyo Serious Talk Show.” His other film credits include “Marupok AF,” “Unli Life,” and “Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap.”

James Caraan

Known for his relentless, high-energy style of stand-up comedy, James is also a host of the top comedy podcast in the Philippines, “The Koolpals.” His TV and movie appearances include “A Hard Day,” “Mighty Robo V,” “Papa Pogi,” “Unli Life,” and “Woke Up Like This.”

GB Labrador

Known as the “Godfather of Comedy Manila,” GB was the first local comedian to perform at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and was the 1st runner-up at the Hong Kong International Comedy Festival Competition. He co-hosts “The Koolpals” podcast and has appeared in films such as “Cuddle Weather,” “Mighty Robo V,” “Woke Up Like This,” and “Drop Off.”

Victor Anastacio

Renowned for his “Intellectwalal” style of comedy, Victor has hosted his own TV show and played multiple lead roles in movies. His notable works include the GMA series “Heartful Cafe,” and films like “Elise,” “Dito at Doon,” and “Fruitcake.”
