Filipino engineers group marks first year

The Society of Filipino Engineers in Australia (SFEA) celebrated its first anniversary, year-end party and oath-taking of its new members last 23 November at Waltzing Matilda Hotel, Springvale, Victoria.

The event was attended by over 40 Filipino engineers from Victoria, Canberra and New South Wales. Philippine Consul General in Melbourne, Maria Lourdes Salcedo, and Dr. Yew-Chin Koay, Chair of the Overseas Qualification Unit of Engineers Australia Victoria Division, graced the event.

SFEA officers are: National President- Alfie Tilan; Vice President- Alexander Genota; Secretary- Sherwin Moreno; Treasurer- Edrick Lim, and PRO-  Jules Vincent Jusayan. Directors are (Ways and Means)- Vyktor Marzonia; (Membership): Marlon Bravo; NSW- Gaudi Balot; ACT- Janice Cerezo and TAS- Geoffrey Magaling.

The event also celebrated the Philippines becoming a full signatory to the Washington Accord in June 2024, coinciding with the Philippine Independence Day.
