Grand Kapamilya Welcome: Sunshine Dizon and Jake Ejercito join ABS-CBN

Two stars were given the Grand Kapamilya Welcome during ABS-CBN’s latest mediacon. First is award-winning actress Sunshine Dizon who is now a certified Kapamilya. Sunshine started her career as a child star and continued to stay as an actor under GMA starring in teen dramas and then moving on to teleseryes. She shared that practical reasons helped her to decide the network change, stating that she has two children to raise and that work is work. Sunshine added that she has heard many good things about Dreamscape and its head Deo Endrinal and felt confident when the script was presented to her.

Sunshine knows that she can’t please everyone and that people will bash her for her decision, but has chosen to ignore them. She is thankful that her fans are very happy for her and will continue to support her no matter what. When asked what her secret is for her staying power in showbiz, Sunshine said that she trusts in God’s will and stayed true to herself.

She is excited to work and explore this new chapter in her career. She is also hoping to work with the likes of Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, Ketchup Eusebio and Angelica Panganiban in the future. Adding that hopefully she gets to reunite in a project with her friend Iza Calzado, who was also a former Kapuso actress.

The next one to be given a warm welcome was Jake Ejercito. Jake is the son of former President Joseph Estrada and Laarni Enriquez. His welcome was a long time coming as he was about to sign a contract with ABS CBN in March last year before the lockdown happened.

Jake has been doing bits of acting before and has starred in Coming Home with Sylvia Sanchez last year, which was an official entry to the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival.

He said that joining showbiz has always been in the back of his mind growing up but his parents wanted him to focus on his studies first. When he started College, he started to get offers but was reluctant and also wanted to prioritize Ellie, his daughter with actress Andie Eigenmann.

The two new Kapamilya stars will be joining Janine Gutierrez and Paolo Avelino in the new teleserye “Marry Me, Marry You”.  It is described as a light and heartwarming family drama that tackles marriage, being with the person you marry as well as their family. It will also star Cherry Pie Picache, Vina Morales, Edu Manzano and Lito Pimentel. Jojo Saguin and Dwein Ruedas Baltazar will direct the new teleserye. They will be going in the shooting bubble by mid-May.
