‘Hello Stranger’ the movie now showing worldwide

Hello Stranger, a popular eight-part web series is now a movie.

The series which mostly showed the actors in Zoom calls follows the story of Mico, played by JC Alcantara, a nerdy student and Xavier, played by Tony Labrusca, a school jock. The unlikely pair were tasked to do an assignment together and this is when they start to form a friendship which eventually develops into something more.

The movie follows the two at a writers camp together with their friends from the series: Vivoree Esclito, Patrick Quiros, Miguel Almendras and Gillian Vicencio who plays Xavier’s girlfriend Crystal. New faces who will be joining the crew are Jin Macapagal and Markus Patterson as Simon, who in the trailer, becomes a cause of jealousy for the pair.

BL or Boys Love is a genre of fiction depicting romantic relationships between two men and is directed at a presumed female audience. This genre has its origins in Japan but is now popular in Taiwan, Thailand and other Asian countries.

JC shared that he prepared for his role by watching a lot of BLs and listening to his director, Dwein Baltazar. Tony said that he is proud to be a part of Hello Stranger and is happy to cross this role from his bucket list. Both are excited and hope that the fans will support the movie as much as they supported the series.

The movie is now showing on the following platforms: KTX.ph, TFC IPTV and iWantTFC. It is produced by ABSCBN and Black Sheep Production.
