PH contingent attends Australia Philippine Energy Showcase in Perth

A delegation from the Philippines from the Department of Energy (DOE), Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are in town this week for the Australia Philippine Energy Showcase hosted by the Australia Philippines Business Council (APBC) at the Duxton in Perth on Tuesday 24 May 2024.

Making their presentations during the event were Department of Energy (DOE) Undersecretary Alessandro O. Sales.

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Minister of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy Akmad A. Brahim, APBC President Rafael Toda, APBC Deputy State Director WA Kelly Tranter of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and WA State Director Jane Caforio of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).

USEC Sales provided updates on the Philippines 2024 energy bid process. 

In an interview with Philippines News Perth in a dinner event tendered by Hope Services Australia, USEC Sales said they are happy about the outcome and is positively looking forward to bids from Australian investors. The bidding will be held in Manila in August.

BARMM Minister Brahim likewise echoed his optimism after presenting the vast potentials of the BARMM in the oil and gas industry.

HSA director Aida Oakdon and former Honorary Vice Consul Melissa Aguasa hosted the private dinner for the delegates attended by APBC Director Marvin Chan and several leaders of the Filipino-Australian community in Perth.

Also joining the Philippine contingent are officials from the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) composed of PNOC Exploration Corporation, Vice President (Upstream Operations Division) Jaime A. Bacud, PNOC Exploration Corporation Project Development Manager Leoncio C. Dalloran and Project Specialist for Petroleum Exploration Chelsea M. Espinosa.

The other members of the Philippine contingent are Demujin F. Antiporda (Assistant Director of DOE Financial Services), Agustus Cesar A. Navarro (Director of DOE Information Technology and Management Services), Atty. Paolo G. Fondevilla (OIC- Director DOE Energy Resource Development Bureau), Atty. Rowena Joyce A. Delos Santos (Chief DOE Legal Services – Upstream Conventional Energy Legal Services Division), Dan Emmanuel M. Montealegre (Supervising SRS DOE ERDB Petroleum Resources Development Division), Gilbert W.  Calangi (Supervising SRS Petroleum Resources Development Division), Moammer Tabara (Chief and Energy Regulations Officer for MENRE), Yussof Ali (Engineer III MENRE Oil and Gas Industry Management Section), and Efraim Ebrahim (Forest Ranger).
