The Array, a new tech hub located in the iconic Victoria Hotel in Smith Street Mall in Darwin invited and hosted the top three Filipino Tekken 8 E-Sport fighters – AK, Doujin, and Jules, all the way from Manila.
The trio arrived in Darwin to compete against the top two best fighters in Australia and the number one in the Northern Territory. This event marked a significant milestone for The Array [] as it unveiled its vision to address the digital skills gap shaping the future workforce.
With over half of the jobs in the next decade requiring significant digital skills and one in two Australians needing proficiency in areas such as programming, software development, and digital creative technologies by 2030, The Array [] is poised to be a catalyst for change, offering a multifunctional space for schooling, coworking, and esports entertainment while promoting innovation and digital literacy in the Territory.
“It is quite special for our Filipino community here in the NT to be part of something that is considered new to the Territory. Team PH transited through Alice Springs and got to meet some Filipinos there as well,” stated Emcille Wills, President of the Filipino Australian Association of the Northern Territory (FAANT).
The competition was organised by The Array [] with the funding support from Northern Territory Government, Northern Territory Major Events, and Activate Darwin, in collaboration with the Filipino Australian Association of the Northern Territory (FAANT), Migration Corporation Australia, Next Tier Gaming and Esports Northern Lights.
