A Call to Service

Sr. Nelia Llanto, SJDB, a Pastorelle Sister, celebrated her 25th anniversary as a religious on 28 April 2012 at St. Damian’s Parish in Bundoora. The concelebrated Mass was led by Fr. Vincent Le Van Houng, parish priest, said with 14 other priests, including Fr. Nestor Candado, Regional Superior of the Society of St. Paul, who gave the homily. Sr Nelia made her first Religious Profession in Manila in 1987. She has been in Australia for almost ten years, serving in the local Church in the pastoral care ministry in St. Luke’s Lalor, and alongside the Scalabrinian Fathers for eight years, and presently as College-Family-Parish Liaison Person at Loyola Catholic College, Watsonia.

A Life of grace

Sr. Nelia Llanto, SJBP responded to God’s calling 25 years ago and has since offered her life in service of the Church and her ministries. On her Silver Jubilee celebration, family and friends came all the way from the Philippines and Sydney, from the different groups whose members’ lives she has touched. After the special concelebrated Mass to honour her life of grace, here is Sr. Nelia cutting her cake and beaming “O, life is sweet!”. Photo by George Gregorio.
