UST Alumni Australia to welcome UST Father Rector to Sydney

The University of Santo Tomas Alumni Australia (USTAA) has announced the visit of its Father Rector, the Very Reverend Richard G. Ang, O.P., PhD, to Sydney from 8 May to 11 May 2026. He will be accompanied by a delegation from the UST Alumni Office.

The visit coincides with two significant milestones – UST’s 415th Foundation Day and the 5th anniversary of UST Alumni Australia (USTAA).

USTAA will host a Grand Reunion on Saturday, 9 May 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Seven Hills, NSW. The day’s program is scheduled as follows:

10:00 a.m. – Eucharistic Celebration celebrated by Rev. Father Richard G. Ang, O.P.
12:00 noon – Lunch at the Parish Hall (next door to the church)
1:00 p.m. onwards – Official Program

The afternoon celebration will feature the induction of new officers and the presentation of Jubilarian Medals to UST alumni. All Thomasians, family, and friends are invited to attend this special gathering.

“We are truly honoured to welcome the Very Reverend Father Rector,” said Ms. Leones. “As USTAA celebrates its fifth year, his visit serves as a great source of inspiration as we continue to grow the association, engage Thomasians across Australia, and strengthen our ties with our beloved Alma Mater,” she adds.

Since its establishment by Father Miguel de Benavides in 1611, UST has remained one of the leading educational institutions in the Philippines. It is the Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas, the oldest Catholic university in the country. It stands as a testament to faith and dedication to excellence.

With renewed enthusiasm, the new Board for 2026 looks forward to celebrating this milestone occasion, with plans ahead for the Thomasian community.

Thomasians are encouraged to wear their school colours on 9 May 2026.
