As you reflect on your New Year’s resolutions this holiday season, Volunteering Australia (VA) invites to you to consider adding volunteering to the list.

According to VA CEO, Brett Williamson, while Christmas is a traditional time for giving and helping others, volunteers are needed year-round.

“At this time of year, it’s wonderful to see how many people of all ages and backgrounds put up their hand to volunteer and give back to their communities. Imagine what we could accomplish if more people volunteered during the rest of the year as well”, says Brett.

“The services and programs powered by volunteers over the holidays are also provided throughout the year and many organisations struggle once the holiday season is over. Helping others is easier than you think. Consider what you are passionate about and how that might translate into a rewarding volunteering experience.”

There are over 5000 not for profit organisations using VA’s volunteer matching website, www.govolunteer.com.au, to post volunteer roles from around the country. With over 17,000 positions currently posted, there is sure to be a volunteering opportunity to match your interests and availability.
