Alay Kay Inay: A Heartwarming Mother’s Day High Tea Celebration at the Dock

The University of the Philippines Alumni in Victoria (UPAV) hosted a memorable Mother’s Day event last 11th May at the Community Hub at the Dock.

Entitled “Alay Kay Inay: Mother’s Day High Tea at the Dock,” the event brought together families for an afternoon filled with music, performances, and engaging activities, celebrating the irreplaceable role of mothers.

The event promised a special way to spoil mums and delivered a program packed with delightful music and extraordinary performances. The Kiko Choir and Chedi Vergara, a former member of the renowned Smokey Mountain singing group, serenaded attendees and created a festive and emotional atmosphere. Alex Fidel, a professional drummer and former artist who toured with different solo acts and bands from various genres, also engaged with kids with drumming skills.

Philippine Consul General in Melbourne Maria Lourdes Salcedo provided inspirational remarks and emphasised the importance of honouring mothers. Attendees also enjoyed innovative Filipino dishes and desserts, catered to tantalize taste buds.
