Compact Excavators Lead Urban Construction with Cost and Efficiency Gains

Most construction firms managing projects in urban settings often lean towards taking compact excavators for hire due to the fact that these machines are seen as the most practical machines to manage projects in congested places. Apart from that, compact excavators are also deemed as cost-effective solutions for these contractors due to the lower rental rates that construction equipment rental companies charge for these machines.

A project manager stands by their justification for hiring these machines as frequently as they do cite elements such as the power and features of the latest compact excavator models that almost rival older generation standard excavators in terms of power, reach and accessories. The practical application for compact excavators is endless, regardless of the type of project at hand as almost any construction project will be faced with issues revolving around space limitations, which render larger or standard excavators redundant or impractical.

As for small projects such as home improvement or projects related to landscaping or clearing brush, it goes without saying that the compact excavator is the perfect choice. The fact is that compact excavators are generally ‘budget-friendly’ when taken for hire compared to their larger counterparts. Coupled with the fact that these machines are also user-friendly is an additional cost-saving factor, as most homeowners, especially DIY enthusiasts, would be able to manage these machines on their own.

Most heavy machines that were developed by leading manufacturers over the past few years feature various sensors, such as load sensors, which alert operators when loads exceed pre-set load limits, whereas object detection sensors warn operators of objects that are within collision range. On-board 3D grade assist systems help operators to grade with high precision and accuracy the first time, which saves a lot of time, which translates directly to budget efficiency.

Other factors that make the compact excavator practical are the ease with which these machines can be transported from one location to another on trucks. Loading and unloading them onto and off trucks is also easy, as excavator rentals are capable of lifting their own weight using the boom. Heavy machine rental companies generally offer pick-up and drop-off services with compact excavator rental agreements as a value-added service, which further saves costs in terms of logistics.

When compared to larger excavator models and manual labour costs, it becomes quite clear that the compact excavator is indeed a budget-friendly option for just about any type of project. With regards to extended hydraulic tools, it is important to check with the rental companies the type of hydraulic attachments that are available and naturally, the cost of hiring these extended tools.

Some hydraulic attachments are more expensive than others, and as such, the prices of attachment tools offered for hire differ significantly depending on the type and, in some instances, the brand, as some brands are more costly than others despite the fact that the tools serve the same purpose. In regards to hydraulic attachments, it is always best to check with the rental company on the rates, type and other clauses prior to taking the compact excavator for hire.
