FCCVI’s Filipino Hub in Victoria officially opens

The Filipino Community Council of Victoria Inc (FCCVI) officially opened the new community centre known as the ‘Filipino Hub’ on 19 December, coinciding with the FCCVI Christmas party. Present during the ribbon cutting was FCCVI President Marlon De Leon, Consul General Maria Lourdes Salcedo and Deputy Consul General Anthony Achilles Mandap.

Msgr. Litoy Asis, Melbourne Episcopal Vicar for Catholic Migrants and Refugees officiated the blessing of the large facility, following prayer of thanksgiving.

The Filipino themed flooring was completed in time for the inauguration and Christmas party, where over 300 guests from the 28 FCCVI member organisations attended. De Leon hopes for additional floor space for an extended second level to be constructed in the coming months.

The Filipino Hub is located at 10/463A Somerville Road, Brooklyn, within the Brooklyn Business Park.
