From my breaking point as a single mother to “CEO in Pajama”

How a Filipina is changing the way we travel and earn

I built StarLegends Adventures during a season of my life when I was quietly afraid.
Afraid of not being enough.
Afraid of failing as a mother.
Afraid of building a future without a safety net.

At the time, I was a small-time entrepreneur and a single mother doing my best to hold everything together. Like many parents, I carried questions I rarely said out loud. How do I provide without disappearing from my child’s life? How do I build something stable when everything around me feels uncertain?

When I became a single mom in Australia, those questions grew heavier. I was rebuilding life far from home, navigating motherhood, work and survival in a new country. I had to be strong even on days when I felt unsure, because someone depended on me.

That was when I realised something important: most people are not chasing success; they are searching for something they can rely on. That realisation brought me back to the travel industry, not just as a service, but as an opportunity.

In 2012, travel became my first breakthrough. At 24, it allowed me to leave employment and experience freedom for the first time. But life redirected me. My hometown was devastated by Typhoon Yolanda. I went through marriage, personal upheavals and long seasons of survival that pulled me away from the vision I once had.

What I learned is simple. Starting again does not mean starting from zero; it means starting from experience.

As I returned to travel, I saw the industry clearly. Travel was never just about bookings or destinations — it was about families reuniting and people investing their savings into meaningful moments. But when plans changed or emergencies happened, travellers were often left without support. Agents worked in isolation, and opportunities were limited to those with capital or connections.

That was my breaking point. I did not want to become just another travel agent. I wanted to build what I wished existed when I needed help the most.

What StarLegends Adventures Is

StarLegends Adventures is a travel business platform for both travellers and entrepreneurs.

First, it provides travel products and services through an all-in-one booking system covering flights, hotels, tours and travel assistance. Travellers can book with guidance, access better rates and avoid costly mistakes.

Second, it allows everyday people to participate in the travel business. Even with zero experience, individuals can learn through step-by-step training and guided tools. People can travel, save and earn without owning inventory or large capital.

Third, it offers real support. StarLegends is high-touch in a high-tech world. Technology makes travel efficient; people make it work when things go wrong. Our community receives guidance nearly 24/7 so no one is left to figure things out alone.

Like how Uber connected drivers, riders and payments into one ecosystem, StarLegends connects travellers, suppliers and entrepreneurs into one platform where travel and opportunity move together. Today, it operates with over 7,000 Filipino affiliates and partners worldwide.

At the heart of StarLegends is a national mission: to help make the Philippines a premier global travel destination. Through the Explore Pinas campaign, Filipinos are encouraged to become tourism ambassadors, while travellers can turn trips into passive income through affiliate marketing.

What began as survival became a movement — to travel with purpose, build with structure, and be part of a platform shaping the future of global travel.
