Ageing

The Australian Filipino Community Services (AFCS) will sponsor an international public forum on “Filipinos Ageing in a Foreign Land” on 9 October 2015, 9 am to 5pm at the Deakin Edge, Federation Square in Melbourne.

Guest presenters are Filipino doctors and dementia specialists from Dementia Society
of the Philippines, advance care planning advocates aged care workers and representatives from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas who will talk on care issues of returning migrants. To forum hopes to address the issues and remove the barriers to services of Filipino seniors in Australia.

Overall coordinator of the forum is Norminda Forteza, AFCS Manager.

The event is supported by the Australian Government and jointly funded by the Commonwealth and the State through the Home and Community Care Program.
