Philippine Fiesta reunion of friends, supporters on 16 November

lanternThe Concerned Members of Philippine Fiesta of Victoria Inc. (CMPFVI) invites the community for a reunion of friends, supporters and volunteers of the Philippine Fiesta of Victoria on 16 November 2013 at the Oriana Reception Centre in Maidstone. The fundraising event aims to generate funds for the legal costs of CMPFV against the current management of the Philippine Fiesta led by Ross Manuel.

Maina Walkley, the spokesperson of the Concerned Members, said that the group is deeply saddened by the major damages and deaths brought about by typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines. But since the event was already booked months ago and preparations were already made, they cannot change the date. She said as part of the CMPFV’s assistance to the victims, part of the proceeds of the raffle prizes for the Christmas lanterns will instead be donated. They chose to deposit it to the bank account of the Emergency Relief Fund of the Philippines as per notice of Philippine Honorary Consul General Gigi Kalong.
