#Pinoytrepreneurs: Small Business Expo 2022 will be held this 19 November 2022 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Bunjil Place Function Centre, 2 Patrick Northeast Drive, Narre Warren VIC 3805.

“This Small Business Expo is the first ever and probably the biggest event for the Filipino business community here in the Southeast of Melbourne. We believe that there is power in supporting one another. We rise by lifting others up. This is why we have created this event for Pinoy-run businesses to have the chance to showcase their products and services to the rest of the community,” said Jen Atayde, one of the Directors of TaxSmart Cafe-Casey, the event’s main organiser.

Atayde said there are around 35 merchants of different trades – clothes/accessories, arts and crafts, services and packed foods. “You can expect promotions from the businesses, deals and freebies! There will be a live band performance from 1pm-4pm,” added Atayde, a Registered Nurse by profession.

There will also be Masterclasses from the experts of TaxSmart Cafe in the morning. The sessions will focus on tips on how to become a business owner, start or re-start a business right, measure success and perform at one’s peak.

The Expo is open to everyone. “It will be a great opportunity to show support to our local Pinoy merchants and also to know what products and services the Filipinos are able to offer in the community,” she said.

Atayde said this Business Expo is a very special and unique gathering of like-minded people as it will showcase how creative and diverse the Filipino businesses are. “We are fostering camaraderie within the community in which we believe that business owners should not compete but rather lift each other up to succeed within their respective fields. We would like to promote positivity within the business community and the Filipino community itself to show how powerful it is if we help each other towards a common goal. The more we share our knowledge to each other, the more businesses will thrive as they learn to apply other business owners’ lived experience,” she said.

The idea of the Business Expo was born through Puffy Scrunchy, one of the major sponsors. “Puffy Scrunchy ran two bazaars for the online sellers to showcase their products in person, which has been a success. We then realised that we can make this even bigger by inviting 35 businesses of different trades to showcase what they can offer,” said Atayde, owner/founder of Puffy Scrunchy.

The event was created and organised by the Directors of TaxSmart Cafe Casey: The Atayde’s – Audwin, Jennifer, Azriel and Rozele. It is also supported by AMPED Marketing Project and the rest of the TaxSmart Cafe team, and The Philippine Times.
