Queensland Filipino Excellence Awards 2024 Now Open for Nominations

The Queensland Filipino Excellence Awards 2024 proudly opens its doors for nominations, marking a significant celebration of the diverse and remarkable achievements within the Filipino community in Queensland.

Honourary Philippine Consul for Queensland Sheryll Gabutero expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming Awards. She highlighted the significance of these awards in acknowledging the Filipino community’s impact in Queensland. “These accolades shine a light on the invaluable contributions of the Filipino community,” she stated, “seamlessly integrating into the cultural mosaic of Queensland.”

Gabutero further emphasized the deeper meaning of these awards. “These Awards represent more than recognition; they symbolize a call to action,” she continued. “They urge nominees to not only excel in their fields but also to inspire future generations with their compassion, resilience, and community spirit. I encourage everyone to nominate individuals who embody these core values.”

Recognising Excellence in Varied Fields

Nominations are sought for individuals who have made significant contributions in the following areas:

  • Excellence Awards in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
  • Excellence Awards in Business, Industry & Commerce
  • Excellence Awards in Arts, Culture, Sports, and Entertainment
  • Excellence Awards in Community Service
  • Young Leader of the Year (Excellence Awards in Youth Leadership)

The Queensland Filipino Excellence Awards Gala, scheduled for April 21, 2024, at the iconic Brisbane City Hall, will celebrate the nominees and announce the winners in these categories.

A Legacy of Recognition

Initiated in 2000 by the esteemed former Philippine Ambassador to Australia, Her Excellency Delia-Domingo Albert, these Awards have become the most prestigious and enduring accolades, acknowledging the outstanding contributions of Filipino migrants to Queensland. The Awards aim to empower nominees to become positive role models in Australia’s dynamic society.
