The Philippine Australian Medical Association (PAMA), Victorian Chapter will assist Filipino doctors and dentists in Australia to pass the Australian Medical Council/Multiple Choice Question exams, the gateway to medical practice in Australia. This is according to the newly-elected PAMA Victoria President, Dr Lorinda De Leon in her opening speech during the formal induction of PAMA officers last 7 December 2013 at Dr De Leon’s clinic at 1 Raven Crescent in Narre Warren.

Aside from this, PAMA will conduct medical assistance to Filipinos in Australia and the Philippines.  Next year, De Leon said PAMA Victoria will hold a fundraising campaign to be used for their medical missions. They will join PAMA Sydney as it has a yearly annual medical mission and 2014 will be its 7th consecutive year of doing it.

Philippine Honorary Consul General of Victoria Gigi Kalong inducted the officers and lauded the group’s efforts to assist Filipino medical practitioners and to perform medical missions to fellow Filipinos who are in need of medical assistance.=

The following are PAMA Victorian chapter officers: President, Dr Lorinda De Leon; Vice President, Dr Anne Marie Uy Kimpang; Secretary Dr Jojie Apostol; Treasurer, Dr Rosario Palaypayon, and PRO, Dr Warren Nemeses.

Marie Bautista and Roberto Hernandez performed a special dance number during the induction and Christmas Party.
