Victorian Labor promises $50 million in community infrastructure funding for multicultural and multifaith communities

The Andrews Labor Government, if re-elected, promises to enhance multicultural and multifaith facilities in Victoria through a new fund to upgrade, renovate and build community facilities.

There are more than 200 countries represented in Victoria, more than 260 languages spoken, and more than 135 different faiths practiced. Almost half of all Victorians were born overseas or had a parent who was born overseas.

Regardless of where you come from, what you look like, what you believe, or what language you speak, Victoria is proud of its cultural diversity.

Community groups offer valuable cultural and heritage connections for many multicultural and multifaith Victorians.

“Every community deserves great spaces to come together to celebrate and share in culture and tradition. Our multicultural and faith communities are no different, and this investment will make sure multicultural Victorians remain strong and connected,” Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said.

The best possible community spaces must be provided for these groups to celebrate and share their culture and traditions.

Therefore, if Labor is re-elected, it is promising to commit $50 million to build, upgrade, and renovate new community infrastructure for multicultural and multifaith communities.

“Labor is doing what matters – supporting our multicultural and multifaith communities and celebrating diversity in our state,” Premier Andrews said.

The Philippine Times has asked the office of Liberal Party Opposition Leader Matthew Guy for comment about Labor’s plan, but they have not responded as of this writing.
