Man tracked down on Facebook after allegedly raping 14-year-old girl and setting fire to her home in Caroline Springs, police say

A MAN accused of raping a teenage girl and setting her alight was tracked down through the victim’s Facebook page, police allege.

Michael Tuano Hermogenes, 24, has been charged over a Caroline Springs house fire yesterday that left a 14-year-old girl fighting for her life.

The victim remains in a critical condition at the Royal Children’s Hospital, with burns to up to 80 per cent of her body. She may have to have a foot amputated.

Mr Hermogenes allegedly claims he suffered memory loss and woke up naked on top of the bleeding and unconscious girl in her home.
