Ina Raymundo stars in May-December love affair

Sabado Nights Ina Raymundo and former Hashtag member Paulo Angeles star in the latest offering from iWantTFC’s Ampalaya Chronicles entitled Me & Mrs. Cruz. Paulo plays a younger delivery boy who falls for the heartbroken wife played by Ina. It is best described as a May-December love affair; although it’s not the focal point of the story. It is simply a story about two people who feel a connection and fall in love.

Ina who is happily married and is now a mum of four kids admitted that she was a bit embarrassed before seeing the preview trailer for the first time. While she mostly portrayed sexy roles in the 90s, at present she mainly does mum-roles. The offer to do Mrs. Cruz was a very welcome and flattering change for her. She shares that she is still very young at heart and keeps up to date with the latest fads through her kids. She also keeps her youthful looks by eating healthy and working out regularly.

Paulo who plays the leading man in this story, was very nervous about his role. He said that he could not move when he first did the look-test with Ina. He was so intent on getting his role right that he actually suffered from a high blood pressure while they were shooting. He also shared that he asked Ina for acting advice before they started.

The show also stars Kristof Garcia, JM Mendoza, Nicki Morena all of which were thankful and feeling blessed for being part of this show and having work amidst the pandemic. They had a three-day locked-in shooting in Bulacan in February and strictly followed all the protocols in accordance with the COVID guidelines.

The Ampalaya Chronicles miniseries is based on the Ampalaya Monologues, a series of “hugot” stories told through monologues and spoken word poetry by Mark Ghosn. Me & Mrs. Cruz is directed by Real Florido and will be available to stream for free on March 26 from iWantTFC.
