MELBOURNE–The Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne has announced the opening of its temporary office in the city’s Central Business District (CBD).

By February 1, the Consulate will start accepting applications for visa, civil registry and notarial services, including authentication of NBI clearance forms, as well as dual citizenship under R.A. 9225 or the Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003.
Citizens of the Philippines in distress situations or with urgent requests for assistance may also visit the Consulate, send an email, or call phone numbers provided.
The Consulate also expects to begin accepting passport applications by March.
Meantime, the consular outreach mission from Canberra on January 20-24 will proceed as scheduled.
The office of the Philippine Honorary Consulate will officially close on January 31, as the career Consulate General opens the following day.
The new Consulate covers the states of Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
