Australian wildlife continues to captivate and impress all who get the privilege to see it. The uniqueness of the Australian continent shows in every part of it. From snowy mountaintops to deserts and ocean views, there is no shortage of breathtaking vistas. Each of them is populated by some of the most diverse and interesting animals on the planet. What’s under the ocean is equally awesome as what’s on top, and you can dive right into the exploration! All that remains is to plan your boat tours and start discovering the world down under.

Seal Cove, Albany

Right next to Albany, 10 kilometers southeast, lies a hidden treasure cove of excitement! Both New Zealanders and Australians love to dive right in and swim with New Zealand fur seals and Australian sea lions. Friendly, playful and interactive, these highly intelligent animals can provide unforgettable entertainment while you are playing with them under the watchful eye of experienced and trained divers.

You can come and visit via a boat or with a local dive charter, whichever is easier for you. Besides seals and sea lions, there are plenty of caves to explore. Decorated with swallowtail nannygais, bullseyes and corals, they are a natural wonder worthy of your time. Don’t fret if you’ve never gone on a dive before, as these waters are around 20 meters deep and protected from the ocean. That means that they are suitable for all levels of diving experience, and you will be under constant guidance from seasoned divers.

Ningaloo Reef, Perth

The Ningaloo Reef that’s part of the Ningaloo Marine Park is an adventure you didn’t know you needed and just waiting to happen. Located a bit shy of 1200 kilometers from Perth, the journey alone entrails what excitement awaits upon your arrival. The Ningaloo Reef is part of the Great Barrier Reef, a World Heritage site, and that alone can tell you all you need to know about what natural wonders lie there. From manta rays and turtles to whale sharks, you can find all sorts of marine life present here.

Snorkeling or deep diving are both possible, and diving tours start from Coral Bay and Exmouth Navy Pier. You will be able to see unforgettable coral sights, coupled with the rich and blooming marine biology that accompanies it. The deeper waters of the ocean are filled with underwater gardens full of ocean sponges that were discovered for the first time just a decade ago and continue to baffle scientists today. They and many other aquatic wonders wait for you to see and experience them for the first time!

Bremer Bay, Jerramungup

When you are in the mood for something big, it doesn’t get any bigger than Bremer Bay. Around 100 kilometers from Jerramungup, Bremer Bay is known for two things. Whale watching and Fitzgerald River National Park. At any time during the year, you can experience the wonders of this remote place. January till March, you can come and gaze upon orcas and pilot whales that will make their appearance here.

The number of orcas located at Bremer Bay during this period is one of the largest in the world. Plan B is to come and visit during July – October period. You can join experienced and licensed Bremer Bay tours that will show you all the wonders of southern right whales and killer whales that swim on the shores during this period. If you love to have your feet on the land, then Fitzgerald River National Park and Bremer Bays’ many beaches are your to-go option. Listing all of the beaches here would be redundant. Still, we advise you to go and visit the national park for its diverse flora and fauna that it houses.

Hervey Bay, Brisbane

About 300 kilometers from Brisbane lies the greatest artificial reef in Australia. If that doesn’t send you packing, you should know that the biggest sight for humpback whales is also at Hervey Bay. Whale Watching experiences here can go to another level as you can swim, dive or sail beside them as over 30.000 of these magnificent beasts roam the shores. The best part about Hervey Bay is its climate which is ideal for visits throughout the year. White and gold beaches stretch towards the horizon and have some of the best service and restaurants in the country to accompany them. When you are done whale watching, you can switch to other extreme sports like wind and sky surfing, kayaking, and scuba diving.

Neptune Islands, Port Lincoln

Shark tourism is real and exciting as it sounds. You can find the adventure of your lifetime in the Neptune Islands, just off the coast of South Australia in the Spencer Gulf. Get your pulse up and racing while watching the apex predators in the flesh, the great white sharks. As this marine area is also home to local fur seals, it’s also the feeding ground for the great white shark. With no diving experience, you can depart from Port Lincoln and watch these magnificent beasts from the safety of guided tours.

Australia’s wildlife is out there, waiting for a chance to shine and make a permanent mark on your vacation experience. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity lies on the coasts of Australia, and all you have to do is embark on your next adventure. We wish you all the best!
